When the Numbers Don't Add Up

We've touched on budgets and money management here and there with a couple of posts in between dedicated to the topics in depth. Let's say that somewhere along the way, you kind of lost track of things. Not a whole lot but to the point of halting everything because the numbers you documented don't add up to the numbers you were provided from the billing source.

Don't panic because there is bound to be an explanation for the latest anvil drop. There are instances when the price per course along with fees tend to increase by x-percent. Some times you're informed in advance and some times you're not but instead of going on a rampage, hit the books to round up a new money management strategy.

DO keep applying for any and all scholarships you come across. Gather all digital submission emails confirming your scholarship entries into a single properly named folder within your inbox. For the physical, hard copy submissions, keep them in a folder or binder for easy access.

If you have a savings account(s), see if you can find some wiggle room to deposit a little bit more into them as a more secure safety net. What can I say, stuff happens especially out of the blue.

As added precaution, have some back up plans sitting in the wings. The absolute minimum you need to have is two (2); no qualms about it. Three (3) or more is ideal since you'll have more options however if all you have on hand is two, then don't worry too much; two is way better than none.
